SGH, what is your experience?

I want to invite you to share about your experience in living in a Small Group House.

“SGH offers a setting to foster closer and more caring relationships, to allow students to exercise more responsibility for their decisions…by taking seriously the implication of commitment to one another.”

Feel free to respond to any of the following questions. Also, you can comment on whatever aspect of your experience.

1. In what areas have you grown since living in a small group house?
2. How have your relationships developed?
3. I’m sure you have experienced conflict; can you elaborate on your experience?

Small Group Housing was an absolutely wonderful experience for me. We all really care about each other and they are such amazing girls.
I’ve grown because I’ve been given the space and opportunity to cook my own meals and have a kitchen, living room and bathroom to take care of. It was nice to have that space to call my own.
Another thing I really enjoyed was being able to come home to my friends. Before I lived in Coffman 2 North with those girls, I had no idea that staying in on a Saturday night could be just as much fun as going out. It was great. I feel like I had to leave too soon.

    1. In living in a small group house I have grown by matters of accepting others’ values more deliberately. Since I only live with 3 other dudes I am more aware of their values and beliefs. I have felt more comfortable sharing my life with them.
    2. Our relationships are closer than last year. We go to more events together and sit around in our living room and talk a lot. We were all friends last year but this year we are much closer.
    3. The only conflict we have had is that 2 of the house mates are messy!
